YouTube DNS hacked?

YouTube has been down for a few hours now. Public whois info shows that someone definitely hacked their account…

Domain names in the .com and .net domains can now be registeredwith many different competing registrars. Go to http://www.internic.netfor detailed information.

Update 10:15: appears to be fully functional again… As some people pointed out the whois info above is misrepresented by whatever whois OS X defaults to…

  1. Actually, it doesn’t look to be a hack job (or at least that’s not what’s causing the problem). Server names for other domains are whacked, too.

  3. nobody hacked their DNS, simply your whois tool is showing multiple records that have nothing to do with youtube.
